Gaming: Got Pushmo?

I recently purchased a wonderful little gem on the 3DS called Pushmo. I’m not very good at explaining things so I just put up the video to the official trailer. I highly recommend this game if you have a 3DS and enjoy visual-spatial puzzles like me.

One of the awesome things about this game is that you can create your own puzzles and share them using QR codes. People can scan the QR code with their 3DS camera and they will receive and store the data for the puzzle.

Here’s something I made that may look familiar…

It’s the VX Ace editor icon! This one was easy to make since the icon is so simple. Of course, that means the puzzle itself is rather easy as well. The maximum length and width a Pushmo puzzle can be is 32×32 which means RTP-styled sprites can definitely be translated into Pushmo. However, the palette limit is 10 colors. Since pixel art is not my forté, translating an RTP sprite with so few colors is difficult for me. Believe me, I tried.

However, that did not dissuade me from trying to recreate other images:

Let us static cling together

A translation patch for Tactics Ogre on SNES was released last month.  If you’re one who likes tactical RPGs with an intricate storyline, branching paths, and an incredible soundtrack you should give Tactics Ogre a try.  I was never able to finish this game when it came out on PSX, but I did clock 100+ hours on it.  This is the game FFT is based on as I believe the development team for Tactics Ogre went on to work for Square (now Square Enix).  So if you liked FFT, you might like Tactics Ogre!  I’m not linking or providing any information on where to find what you need to play this.  You can easily find out on your own.

Midterms were a little rough, but I did very well!  I’m less than a month away from summer vacation.  Gonna be a quite busy for awhile.  If I don’t have time for making new animations, I’ll try and remake animations that I still haven’t gotten around to doing.

KOFXIII Announced

Still kinda busy right now… I’d love to get back into the swing of things, but I do have my winter exams coming in about two weeks.  Sigh…

Still, I would like to say that I’m quite excited about the announcement of The King of Fighters XIII.  I’ve been so occupied that I didn’t know about it until several weeks after this press release was out. I liked XII artistically, but it was lacking in… everything else.  I’m hoping Whip and K’ make their HD debut in this one. :)
